Our Commercial Gas Water Heater Range

Astute – Condensing Gas Storage Water Heaters (22kW to 111kW)

The Astute commercial water heater range is designed for ease of retrofit and replacing existing older units. Multiple connection point sizes allow the unit to be connected into existing pipework with minimal disruption, and Adveco can configure multiple flue options to suit different plant rooms and space constraints.

Available in capacities of 22kW to 28kW with tank sizes between 190 and 284 litres, and 37kW to 111kW with tanks between 300 and 380 litres. The Astute was designed with retrofit projects in mind, making it ideal for commercial buildings upgrading from older heating appliances and wanting to keep installation times as short as possible.

AD – Semi-Instantaneous Condensing Gas Water Heaters (70kW to 280kW)

High power, low storage. The AD condensing commercial water heaters range from 70kW to 280kW, covering commercial gas hot water demand where large volumes of hot water are needed at once but you do not have the space or the desire to fit a large storage tank. As the name implies, these semi-instantaneous models heat water in a small buffer tank before dispensing, reducing total stored volume and minimising losses through standing heat.

At its maximum output of 280kW, the AD is one of the highest flow commercial gas water heaters in the Adveco range. Well suited to covering hot water demand at hotels, leisure facilities, large care homes and industrial applications.

ADplus – Instantaneous Condensing Gas Water Heaters

Our ADplus instantaneous commercial water heater has no storage tank, heating water on demand as it passes through the unit. Available in floor-standing format, the ADplus works well for installations where space is at a premium and demand is consistent enough not to require stored volumes.

Like all Adveco commercial water heaters, the ADplus is a condensing model so you still get low running costs even at full power. A good choice when you need a commercial gas tankless water heater or an instantaneous commercial water heater and are not sure whether to go with storage or instantaneous.

BFC Cyclone – High Efficiency Condensing Gas Storage (28kW to 120kW)

The BFC Cyclone commercial water heater is a high efficiency condensing gas-fired storage water heater available from 28kW to 120kW with storage capacities from 217 litres to 480 litres. The cyclone burner technology consistently achieves high thermal efficiencies across its entire output range, making it a good choice for busy commercial buildings with peak demand periods that benefit from having hot water readily available.

INNOVO – Condensing Gas Storage Water Heater (12kW to 32kW)

The INNOVO is our smallest high efficiency condensing commercial gas storage water heater, well suited to smaller outputs at the lower end of the commercial range. Available from 12kW up to 32kW with storage capacities ranging from 160 litres up to 380 litres. Ideal for small commercial buildings without high demand, care homes, small hotels or offices where a compact unit is required.

SGE – Direct Gas-Solar Storage Water Heater (28kW to 120kW)

Take your commercial gas water heater and add solar thermal pre-heating without the complexity of a fully separate solar system. The SGE combines a high efficiency direct gas-fired water heater with a built-in solar heat exchanger coil. Solar thermal panels pre-heat your stored water before the gas burner fires, using less fuel without requiring a separate solar storage cylinder.

Available from 28kW to 120kW with storage capacities from 217 to 480 litres. The integrated coil design means the SGE has a small footprint and does not add significant space requirements over a standard commercial gas water heater. Well suited to commercial buildings that already have solar thermal panels or want to add them alongside a new gas water heater.

Twister II – Direct Gas Fired Storage Water Heater (35kW to 45kW)

Our Twister II commercial water heater is a high efficiency direct gas-fired storage water heater available in stainless steel construction. Covering outputs from 35kW to 45kW with 182 litres of storage. Ideal for commercial applications where stainless steel construction is preferred or where a direct-fired water heater better suits the system layout than an indirect water heater.

Adveco 2024 Product Guide

What is a condensing gas water heater?

Condensing gas water heaters extract heat from the flue gases that would otherwise just be vented out of a standard water heater. A secondary heat exchanger pre-warms incoming cold water with heat from those flue gases, giving a significant efficiency boost. While traditional non-condensing water heaters operate at around 83-85% efficiency, a condensing water heater can exceed 100% on a net calorific value basis. In practical terms this means the condensing unit uses noticeably less gas to heat the same volume of water as a non-condensing model. For a commercial building running a gas water heater around the clock, that adds up to meaningful savings on energy bills and a measurable difference to your carbon footprint. All Adveco commercial gas water heaters are condensing models. There is no compromise between efficiency and performance in our range: we offer condensing gas water heaters starting at 12kW right through to 280kW, in storage, semi-instantaneous and instantaneous configurations.

Commercial Gas Water Heater Replacement: Retrofit and Upgrade

Upgrading an older commercial building gas water heater to a modern high-efficiency condensing model is one of the most straightforward improvements you can make to reduce running costs. Compared to a water heater installed 10 to 15 years ago, you will use up to 35% less gas to heat the same volume of water with an Adveco commercial condensing water heater.

Adveco’s commercial gas water heaters are designed with retrofit and replacement in mind. The Astute commercial condensing water heater range in particular is built around ease of retrofit into existing systems. Multiple connection points allow us to configure the gas inlet to match your existing supply, and we can adapt the flueing to suit most plant rooms.

Get in touch with our technical team and we will assess your current water heater, recommend the best replacement model, and handle supply and installation from start to finish.

Gas and Solar Thermal Hybrid Systems

Not ready to move away from gas completely but want to cut your consumption? Combine Adveco’s commercial condensing water heaters with solar thermal pre-heating to reduce running costs without switching to full electric.

Solar thermal water heating pre-heats your stored hot water using energy from solar panels before your gas burner fires. On a good day your gas burner may not need to fire at all. In typical UK weather the solar pre-heat cuts your gas consumption and the water heater tops up when required. Either way you still have full backup from your gas system.

This works particularly well with Adveco’s SGE commercial gas solar storage heaters. The built-in solar heat exchange coil sits inside the gas heater itself, allowing a smaller solar array to pre-heat your water before the boiler activates. Ideal for gas-solar hybrid installations that are too large or too complex for a standard SGE. Our solar thermal team engineers will work with your gas specifiers to make sure both elements are correctly sized and configured.

Commercial Gas Water Heater FAQs

A condensing commercial water heater captures heat from flue gases that a standard model just vents out of the building. It uses a secondary heat exchanger to transfer that energy to the incoming cold water, achieving thermal efficiencies of up to 100% or more. Better efficiency means lower gas usage for the same volume of hot water, lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint.

Yes. Propane, or LPG, is a fuel that all of our commercial water heaters can be configured for. Adveco’s commercial LPG water heaters come in storage, semi-instantaneous and instantaneous configurations from 12kW to 280kW. LPG appliances need to be fitted with the correct burner and combustion settings to work safely and efficiently, which is why we handle commissioning ourselves. We can also advise on LPG storage, regulators and supply arrangements if required.

Our commercial LPG water heaters are well suited to off-grid installations such as rural buildings, farms and industrial sites, holiday parks and commercial buildings not connected to the mains gas network.

All Adveco commercial water heaters are condensing models that use less gas than older non-condensing appliances. How much you can save by switching will depend on your current hot water setup and your gas tariff. Installing a new condensing commercial gas water heater can save up to 35% on hot water energy costs.

How much you save by upgrading an old water heater to a new condensing model will depend on your existing equipment, current gas prices and how much hot water your installation uses on average. For larger commercial buildings running a water heater continuously, Adveco estimates savings of £220,000+ over the lifetime of the equipment when compared to a 25 year old non-condensing model.

Get in touch and we will assess your current water heater at no charge and give you an accurate estimate of your potential savings.

Storage water heaters keep hot water ready until it is needed, so recovery time after a large draw is the main consideration. Semi-instantaneous models use a small buffer tank alongside a high-output burner, giving faster response times without the bulk of a full storage system. Instantaneous water heaters store nothing and heat water immediately before it reaches the outlet. Instantaneous units work best where demand is predictable and consistent. Storage models suit sites with peak usage periods separated by periods of low demand.

Yes. Solar pre-heating from a solar thermal system reduces how often your commercial gas water heater needs to fire, saving money on bills and reducing your installation’s carbon footprint. Adveco’s SGE gas solar storage heaters integrate a solar heat exchange coil inside the gas heater itself, so a smaller solar array can keep your water topped up without needing a separate solar storage cylinder.

For larger or more complex jobs we can design a combined gas and solar solution tailored to your requirements. Get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
