MD Floor Standing Boilers

The Adveco MD range of high efficiency condensing boilers provides a high capacity, reliable solution for a building’s central heating demand. Manufactured by Adveco’s European partner with over 50 years of boiler production experience, the range has four floor standing condensing boilers with heat outputs from 70 to 280 kW.

Each boiler features one to four high-quality heat exchangers built from a continuous, non-welded run of titanium-stabilised stainless steel, giving durability, strength and corrosion resistance, plus built-in redundancy on all units from 140 kW and above. The heat exchanger’s 3-pass design uses large bore, circular tube cross sections that reduce debris collection.

Floor-Standing Boiler Design: Features & Key Technologies

Options

With an efficient pre-mix burner and low NOX and CO emissions, the MD range is an eco-friendly solution to serve a central heating system. The units additionally feature a high modulation ratio to ensure maximum efficiency even during periods of low demand.

The Adveco MD range features an inbuilt controller with LCD display that ensures full temperature control, plus cascade control for up to 8 units and a maintenance self-check of primary components and functions, 0-10 input, MODBUS communication and alarm output.

The Adveco MD range is also compatible with proposed 20% hydrogen blends in natural gas networks, offering a transitional route to a more decarbonised energy without requiring physical alteration to the appliance or building.

What is a floor-standing commercial boiler?

A floor-standing boiler sits on the plant room floor rather than being wall-mounted, which generally allows for higher output, easier servicing access, and multiple heat exchangers for redundancy in a single unit. MD covers 70 to 280 kW per unit, cascadable for larger heating loads, aimed at buildings with substantial central heating demand rather than the smaller-scale needs a wall-hung boiler covers.

The problem MD solves

Large commercial buildings need heating capacity that a domestic-scale or even light commercial boiler simply can’t provide, and they need it reliably, since a heating failure in a large occupied building is a serious operational problem, not just an inconvenience. MD’s multiple heat exchanger design builds redundancy directly into units from 140kW upward, so a single exchanger issue doesn’t take the whole heating system down, and cascade control up to 8 units gives a path to very large total capacity without a single point of failure.

Floor-standing vs wall-hung: which commercial boiler do you need?

The choice mostly comes down to output and plant room layout. Floor-standing boilers like MD suit higher heating loads, 70 kW and up per unit, and plant rooms with floor space to dedicate to boiler plant, often with the payoff of built-in redundancy on larger models. Wall-hung boilers suit smaller heating loads and plant rooms where floor space is at a premium, mounting on the wall instead of taking up floor area. If your building’s heating demand exceeds what a wall-hung range comfortably covers, or redundancy matters more than floor space, MD’s floor-standing range is the one to look at.

Frequently Asked Questions

A boiler that sits on the plant room floor rather than being wall-mounted, generally allowing higher output and multiple heat exchangers for redundancy.
Floor-standing suits higher heating loads and plant rooms with floor space to spare. Wall-hung suits smaller loads and space-constrained plant rooms. MD’s floor-standing range starts at 70kW.
Four models with heat inputs of 70, 140, 210 and 280 kW, and a total output range from 14 kW up to 2.24 MW when cascaded.
Yes, on the 140T, 210T and 280T models, thanks to multiple heat exchangers per unit.
Yes, up to 8 units, with an inbuilt LCD controller managing cascade control and diagnostics.
Yes, the range is compatible with proposed 20% hydrogen blends in natural gas networks.
Sizing depends on the building’s calculated heat loss and hot water demand, not litre or kW figures picked in isolation. MD’s cascade control (up to 8 units) means you can also build capacity in stages rather than committing to one large unit, get in touch with your building’s heat loss figures and we can help size it correctly.

On the 140T, 210T and 280T models, each boiler contains multiple heat exchangers, so a single exchanger issue doesn’t take the whole unit down. Cascading multiple MD units adds a further layer: if one boiler needs servicing, the others continue covering demand.
